Individual Health
We prioritize your health through conscious and science - based ingredient selection and transparency. Our products are free from harmful and toxic chemicals, fillers, and certain preservatives, to ensure the most natural and compatible formulations that will keep your skin healthy.
In the United States, there are only about 11 ingredients that have been banned from cosmetic formulations, while in other parts of the world, like the European Union, they've banned 1300+. Due to the poor standards in the US, Bellavana Beauty follows the European Union standards when creating products.
We also consider the information provided by the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Ratings when selecting our ingredient profiles, paying close attention to: overall score, irritation concern, organ system toxicity, ecotoxicology, persistence & bioaccumulation, and allergies & immunotoxicity.
The EWG ratings are as follows: Low Hazard = 1 - 2; Moderate Hazard = 3 - 6; High Hazard = 7 - 10. All of Bellavana Beauty's skin & body care products are formulated with ingredients that are scored low - moderate hazard, never surpassing into a high hazard. We take great care to research the scientific evidence available surrounding different ingredients and synthetic chemical compounds to ensure they are safe to use on their own, and in a final product.
We do not say we are a chemical - free brand for the reason that all substances (even water or air) are, technically, chemical compounds. However, our commitment to you is to be a harsh - chemical free brand, only providing products that are vetted to be skin and health safe.

The ratings indicate the relative level of concern posed by exposure to the ingredients in this product - not the product itself - compared to other product formulations. Creating a world that is safe and sustainable is the foundation of our brand, and is rooted in our philosophy and our product creation.
Although we are a small but growing brand, we consider our sustainability impact from our packaging, to our product collection development, to our global contributions. Our goal is to create tangible change in the industry and the world, and to bring awareness to unsustainable overconsumption in the beauty industry that fuels the climate and environment crises.
We have partnered with One Tree Planted, a non - profit organization based in Vermont with a focus on global reforestation, to plant trees across the world. Our goal is to plant more than 1000 trees in our 2nd year of business.
