Skincare at home does not have to be a simple scrub to the face and splash of water. Take this time to relax and enjoy some well-deserved time to yourself! Whether you are unwinding from a long day or about to start a busy day, make skincare a sacred part of your daily habits. This will not only benefit your skin/ body but also your mind and mental health. Learn here how to create a spa-approved facial from home!
What You Will Need
Gather your favorite skincare products and lay them out in this order: cleanser, exfoliant, toner, mask, treatment creams, serums, moisturizer, and SPF if you are getting ready for the day. In addition to the products, you may choose to indulge in some at-home products like facial steamers, gua sha stones, facial rollers, or at-home safe extracting tools.
How To Get Prepared
Before starting, tidy an area and dim the lights for extra relaxation. Have all the products / tools in an accessible area to prevent having to run around. Next, if you please, add some relaxing music and maybe even light a candle, and be sure to have a glass of water near to stay hydrated. Jump into some comfortable clothes and pin your hair up or use our Bella Spa Headband.
Start The Facial
Now that you are ready to go, follow this easy step-by-step guide to creating the perfect at-home facial. We will add some of our favorite recommendations to the list to help guide you with your needs. Feel free to skip any steps as needed.
Using our gentle gel cleanser, pump 1 - 2 pumps into clean hands and lather onto skin for a minimum of 60 seconds. Rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry.
Time to remove the top layer of dead skin! Grab your exfoliator or try our exfoliating Pineapple Enzyme Face Mask.
Once the exfoliation is finished, make sure to give your skin a thorough tone. This will help restore your skin's pH balance and remove any excess dead skin or dirt. We recommend our Hydrating Rose Water Toner that is great for all skin types.
4. Steam / Extract
If you have an at-home facial steamer, now is the time to use it! Steam your face for 2-5 minutes. Once finished, your pores will be prepped for a gentle extraction around the nose or chin. We always recommend you seek professional help for large pustules, especially for cystic acne.
5. Face Mask
If you haven't already used a face mask in the routine yet, this is the time to apply one! If you have oily or breakout-prone skin try using our Blemish Control Face Mask. If you are looking for a deep cleanse, our Detox & Purify Face Mask is great for all skin types. You can mix the powder in with a liquid of your choice, however, we recommend using our Aloe Beauty Water since it’s a 100% Aloe Vera Hydrosol and gentle enough for all skin types with the added nutrient benefits for your skin! Leave the mask on between 5 – 10 minutes.
6. Treatment Creams / Serums
Now that we have clean, refreshed skin, it's time to add the serums. If you struggle with hyperpigmentation or scars, our Blemish Clearing Serum formulated with Niacinamide is the way to go. Try our Hydro Boost Serum formulated with Hyaluronic Acid to give your skin the hydration it needs to stay plump and looking healthy.
7. Moisturizers & SPF
Finally, lock everything in with a moisturizer and if you’re going out in the daytime, top it off with SPF! Try our Ever Glow Bakuchiol Oil if you are looking for anti – aging benefits, have dry skin, or to add a natural glow. This step can also be where you take a minute to give your face a deep massage, whether this is with your hands, a jade roller, or a gua sha stone. Extra circulation in the skin will help create blood flow and lead to glowing/ anti-aging skin effects. This will also help penetrate all the previous products deeper into the dermis.
